The former senator representating southern senatorial zone from 1992 to 1993, senator Patrick Ani has come out to praise the decision by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) over the redesigning of the Naira.
The Senator made this known to the Truthlivenews shortly after his thanksgiving service at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Egerton street; in celebration of his 79th birthday in Calabar.
Senator Ani stated that the Redesigning of the Naira which would go a long way to help Nigeria to recover stolen funds from the politicians, has been long over due; hence, the need for the CBN’s Governor, Godwin Emiefiele to ensure all the stolen monies are tracked through the Bank Verification Number (BVN).
“Nigeria has not changed currency for over 10 years now. There is a lot of fake and stolen funds circulating around. There is a lot of money buried in the underground tanks.”
Meanwhile, he has also revealed how he feels at 79th. The Lawmaker who is also a Chattered accountant revealed that the secret to his Long life is partially depending on regular physical exercise, looking at age as a number and loving people as well as eating balance diet, not in war with life, and not harbouring grudges.
“In the mind, i do not feel I am 79 of age at all. I look at myself as somebody in the sixties” he said, age is just a number, the moment you feel you are old, you would be old.”
The Thanksgiving service was celebrated with stunning photos of him with friends, clergymen and cutting of cake.
