Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku has said the killers of his Senior Special Assistant (SSA), Samson Omoarebokhae will certainly be brought to book.
He made this known when he visited the Sabongidda-Ora residence of the deceased, after the laying-to-rest ceremony which attracted eminent personalities, friends, including the delegation of Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, which the Chief of Staff to Speaker, Hon. ODK Iruobe; Hon. Victor Enahoro Imoukhuede, Hon. Atafo Monday, and Dr. Hassan Otinau and a host of other Assembly functionaries in attendance.
Recall that late Samson Omoarebokhae was killed by unknown gunmen on his way from Ozalla on 31st of August, 2024 in Owan West LGA, Edo State.
While commiserating with the family, the Speaker, described his death as a great loss to the Assembly, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Owan West in general, considering how close he was to him and how he genuinely managed the Speaker’s activities on social media.
He commiserated with the family of the slain SSA and urged them to draw strength from God’s promises of not leaving those mourning comfortless.
He later donated the sum of one million naira for the Education Trust Fund of the children he left behind and further added that, an early saver’s account should be opened with Access Bank Plc, Sabongidda-Ora branch.
On his part, Sir (Hon) ODK Iruobe, the Chief of Staff to the Speaker added that, “though it is a painful situation, may God in His infinite power give the family a reason to smile again.”
He prayed God to repose the soul of the deceased and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Responding, wife of the deceased, Mrs Stella Omoarebokhae, expressed appreciation to the Speaker for sharing with them in moment of grief and for the financial support toward the children’s education.
