In a resolute move aimed at securing victory in the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State, leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Southwest region have set aside their differences and united under a common purpose. The decision was made during a pivotal meeting held at the Presidential Lodge of the Oyo State Government House, Agodi, Ibadan, underscoring the significance of collaboration in political strategy.
Truth Live News gathered that the gathering witnessed the presence of key figures including Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo and Ademola Adeleke of Osun, alongside prominent party members such as Chief Bode George, National Deputy Chairman (South) Ambassador Taofeeq Arapaja, former Governors Dr Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo and Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola of Osun, former governorship candidate Eyitayo Jegede of Ondo, and 2023 Ogun State governorship candidate Oladipupo Adebutu, among others.
The primary agenda of the meeting was to deliberate on the party’s trajectory and devise strategies to foster unity among stakeholders ahead of the crucial November election. Governor Makinde stressed the paramount importance of unity, sentiments echoed by his counterpart from Osun, Governor Adeleke.
Expressing gratitude for the solidarity demonstrated by the party leaders, the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate for the election, Agboola Ajayi, expressed confidence that their unwavering support would pave the way for his victory.
