The Presidential Candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Mr. Omoyele Sowore has fired back at the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Mr. Atiku Abubakar, revealing that he ran away from the United State of America because of an allegation of money laundering.
Atiku had earlier criticized Sowore for not being aware of the power situation in Nigeria as he doesn’t live in Nigeria.
In reaction to Atiku’s criticism, Sowore revealed on Sunday during his interview on Arise TV News at 9 which was monitored by Truthlive.net, revealed that Atiku and his wife are American fugitives.
He noted that Atiku keeps running out of the country whenever he loses an election, leaving the consequences of the election to people like him who are bold enough to stay here in Nigeria and face the heat of the period.
He said,
“My first time contesting in Nigeria was in 2019, since then, I have not left since then. Atiku has been contesting every four years in Nigeria and I have not left, but he has always left anytime he contested an election and lost, this is his seventh time.
“I started contesting in 1992 as a student union president, Atiku also contested during the SDP primaries against Abiola in 1992/1993 transition period, he lost, and I won as a student union president.
“When the system collapsed, it was us that took over that made sure we fought for that mandate, Atiku ran away.
“I don’t know where he was between the years 1993 and 1999 but I never left Nigeria.
“One time I met him at his mansion in Potomac near Washington DC, he was accused of money laundering, when he was discovered, he ran away with his wife, he didn’t go back to the US, he ran to the UK.”
Sowore also revealed how the current SSA to President Buhari and media Mr. Garba Shehu, was sending him documents from the office of then Vice President, Atiku, for him to use to attack former President Olusegun Obasanjo, as a journalist.
