Some children of PHERAOH are saying Wike has benefited from PDP and therefore does not have a right to complain when injustice is been served on him and his region, that is where you guys are getting it all wrong.
Yes, Wike was the council Chairman of Obi’Akpo LGC, then Chief of Staff briefly, later as Minister under GEJ, and now as a Governor, and have remained a loyal and committed party man.
Unlike Atiku who was a Vice President under same party, but conspired openly and vigorously to bring the party down in 2015, he even said openly in 2024 that he will never return to PDP, but here was Wike fighting tooth and nails to keep the party, daring the party in government in Nigeria.
After the primaries, we all saw how Atiku visited Wike and Gov. Wike reciprocated in love and oneness —- until the same Obaseki and Co used Ayu to create disharmony between them.
After picking Okowa which is not beyond normal Wike was kept cool and embarked on vacation to calm fray nerves down, Atiku shouldn’t have been talking or voicing those trash against Wike.
What I do not understand is The pride of Atiku — he behaves as if he has already won the election.
The same Obaseki and Co that foist Okowa on them is the same Leader of the group that are subtly making *Obidient* loud and formidable in Edo today.
What is difficult in Atiku going same way to pacify Wike just as it happened immediately after the primaries?
Relying on those bunch of character that probably have their gross against Wike’s leadership by not allowing them get what they wanted in Rivers can only be suicidal for the PDP. Trust me, without Wike, PDP will loose South South including Edo state woefully. Obi is already a threat, and they are just playing to the gallery.
They can’t be so relying on the Northern votes that is not even certain. The last time I checked, the North produced over 5-million votes for the PDP while the south also gave over 5-million votes with Rivers producing the highest.
As it stand now in Edo, Obaseki would commands no significant vote because of his attitude. Even among the PDP, his influence would create more woes for the party.
One thing that is certain is that, Wike would deliver his PDP guber candidate for sure which he is relentlessly striving and working for, and therefore, he will not leave the party. The likes of Okpara, Lee Maeba, et al that probably wanted to succeed Wike and failed, and are now seeing the current crises as a pay back opportunity for themselves can never be relied upon. Any or every attempt to rely on them can only be suicidal at the party’s peril in that state.
When Atiku, Babangida Aliyu, Saraki, et al were loosing their head against the PDP between 2014 to 2016, Wike was the wedge and solid Rock for the party. Now, they can’t be more important and relevant than a Wike. Ingratitude will sure find them out soon.
However, the party still has good chance to make amend, the PDP leadership should go the Bode George way and unite the party for good, the time to make amend and reconcile is now or else, it would only end in stories that touches.
