Two suspected terrorists are currently in the custody of the Sokoto state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).
The suspects who were alleged to have earlier escaped from custody were said to have been rearrested in Silama local government council of the state.
The suspects whose names were given as Alhaji Korie and Buba Magaji, while being paraded before newsmen, weekend at the state command’s headquarters, were said to have been arrested in a forest during an operation led by the state commandant.
The state command, Mohammed Saleh-Dada, who took his time to narrate how Korie and his accomplice were nabbed by his men, said information available at the command desk indicates that the suspect, who he described as an “international terrorist” has over two hundred foot soldiers working in various terrorist camps across the state.
Places listed by the commandant which according he said Korie and his men are camping in the state, are; Tureta, Dange/Shuni, Binji, and Silame local government councils.
The commandant was also of the view Korie may likely have links with the Ansaru dreaded terrorist cell, terrorizing Shiroro, Kagara, and Birnin Gwari areas in Niger and Kaduna States.
Making emphasis that the gang members of the terrorists had earlier reached out to the command offering a bribe of N10m to free their arrested leader, the gang according to him, however, failed to turn up for fear of being arrested.
The arrested suspects, as made known by him, will be arraigned before the court as soon as investigation is completed by the command.
As the command is ready not to relent in its efforts to chase out hoodlums from the state, the need for the public to cooperate with the command and other sisters security outfits, he said has become necessary.
This, the commandant believed the people can do by assisting his men with information that would lead to the invention of their hideouts.
