Tears As Gov. Oborevwori Visits Family Of Victims Of NDLEA Stray Bullets, Orders Police Investigation

The Delta state Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has visited the family of the late Ivan Omorhiakogbe, who tragically lost his life due to stray bullets fired by officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Asaba.

Oborevwori, who visited the family to offer his heartfelt sympathies at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Asaba, said that the Delta State government is committed to cover the cost of Eromonsele’s medical treatment.

Eromonsele, the one-year-old sibling of the late Ivan was injured in the incident that took away the life of his father.

The Governor said that as part of his commitment to the wellbeing of Deltans, he wished Eromonsele a speedy recovery while ordering a thorough investigation into the unfortunate event.

He took to the social media to express his condolence when he said through his official twitter handle that “I expressed my condolences to the family of the late Ivan Omorhiakogbe, who tragically lost his life due to stray bullets fired by officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Asaba.”

“I visited the family to offer my heartfelt sympathies.During the visit, I also wished a speedy recovery to Eromonsele, the one-year-old sibling of the late Ivan who was injured in the incident.”

He continued “I emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation into this unfortunate event by both the police and the NDLEA high command and I assured the Delta State government’s commitment to covering the cost of Eromonsele’s medical treatment.”

He commended the dedicated and committed health workers at FMC for their exceptional work during this difficult time.
