Fear gripped residents of Oyi Local Government Area, Anambra State, on Friday night as gunmen abducted four persons at the border between Nsugbe and Nkwele.
The incident, which occurred around 9 p.m., was captured in a chilling video circulating online.
According to Truth Live News, the victims include Mr. Dona Ayakalor and three of his friends.
In the video, the abducted individuals were seen crying in agony as their captors shot them in the legs, leaving blood splattered on the ground. The footage also showed one of the victims making a desperate call, pleading with a relative to arrange ransom money for their release.
Efforts to reach the Anambra State Police Command for confirmation proved abortive, as the spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, had his phone switched off at the time of reporting.
