The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has asked the African Union (AU), European Union (EU), USA and Russia governments, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and other notable human rights organisations across the world to prevail on the Nigerian government  and its courts to remove the illegal proscription tag on IPOB.

IPOB threatened to file a lawsuit against the federal government should it pay deaf ear to its demand.

Spokesperson of the group, Emma Powerful said this in his statement made available to newsmen.

Truth Live News reports that recently, the court has said that IPOB is not a terrorist organisation.

He said IPOB has done no wrong for its agitation and has not violated any laws since its struggle for a Biafra nation.

“Nigeria judiciary should redeem its honour and dignity by ensuring unjust terrorist tag on IPOB is removed. The IPOB’s self-determination approach has not violated any local or international laws”, Powerful said.

He said since IPOB appealed the black market proscription, the Nigeria government and its proxy actor judges have never allowed the case to see the light of day.

He urged men and women of good conscience to ask the Nigerian government why it is running away from the court on the case of IPOB proscription appeal.

He pointed out that instead of the federal government facing IPOB’s legal team in court to prove its proscription of IPOB, its capitalizing on illegal terrorist tag on IPOB.

He further blamed the Nigeria government for adopting a violent repression action against peaceful IPOB members so that it can intimidate them into abandoning their Biafra struggle.

He further reiterated that no amount of pressure will make them abandon their pursuit.

“Let the Nigeria government and other Western interests realize that nothing will make Biafrans abandon the self-determination via a referendum”, Powerful added.
