Former Monaco manager Thierry Henry has emerged as a contender for the vacant Belgium national team job.

The position became available after Domenico Tedesco was recently sacked following a series of disappointing results.

Tedesco’s tenure was marked by only two wins in his last 10 games, culminating in a 1-0 loss to Israel in the Nations League last November.

According to Belgian outlet Le Soir, Henry is now in the running for the position, alongside other notable coaches who were initially considered, including Erik ten Hag, Mark van Bommel, and Xavi.

Henry recently led the France Olympic team to a second-place finish at the Paris 2024 football event, where they were defeated 5-3 by Spain in the final.
