Ogechi Sharon Okoroafor, Ex- Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri student who in a viral TikTok video claimed to have graduated from the school by the grace of God and her ‘pussy’ as she puts it, has recanted, stating through her lawyers that it was a slip.
“Her intended words were ‘God and Pupsy (Not P*ssy)”, explained Barr Ikechukwu Nwaopara Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, in tacit missive to the school’s management, a copy of which is in custody of Truth Live News.
Okoroafor had gone on TikTok, a vidoelogue social media app to celebrate her graduation while also making comments that implied that she slept with her teachers to get through school.
The video had sparked outrage and condemnation, dragging the reputation of the school in the mud.
But writing the school, her barrister says that her comments were just slips, misunderstood by the public.
Okoroafor would be facing the school disciplinary panel on Tuesday.
But appealing, her lawyer said that his has confidence that the panel will carry out their duties in compliance with the principles of Fair hearing, good conscience and natural justice devoid of harassment, intimidation and threats.
“We have met and discussed with our Client and evidence before us shows that she has no intention to defame the character, standard and integrity of the institution.
“In her words what happened in the said viral video was a slip of tongue as a result of her uncontrollable ecstacy over her graduation.
“In appreciation of the almighty God and her Dad. It is clear therefore, that she had no intention whatsoever to use such a “fowl word” in the said viral video to cajole or blackmail the institution as no lecturer or name of the institution was mentioned or referred in the said viral video,” Nwaopara said.
