Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the ongoing crisis in Osun State by calling the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, and his supporters to order.
This comes after violence erupted in the state on Monday, resulting from the battle for control of local government secretariats between the PDP and APC.
The crisis stems from a Court of Appeal judgment that was interpreted differently by the APC and PDP.
Governor Ademola Adeleke and Oyetola have disagreed over the alleged reinstatement verdict, with Adeleke insisting that sacked council chairmen cannot return to office, while Oyetola believes the judgment should be implemented through the law.
Frank claims that Oyetola’s strategy is to make the state ungovernable, creating a crisis that would lead to a state of emergency declaration.
He alleges that Oyetola and the APC are attempting to abort Adeleke’s second term through violence and crisis.
Frank has urged President Tinubu to break his silence on the matter, emphasizing that both Oyetola and the President would be held responsible if the crisis escalates further.
