President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, for his impressive developmental strides, describing his performance as nothing short of fantastic. The President also emphasized the need for collaboration across party lines to advance the nation’s development agenda.

Truth Live News gathered President Tinubu made the remarks during a one-day state visit to Enugu State, where he commissioned several flagship projects executed by Governor Mbah in the last 19 months.

“He is doing a fantastic job. I am glad that Enugu has a very good tomorrow, today,” Tinubu declared. “I salute Peter Mbah for his commitment to development. You have built up a good team, and I have reviewed several initiatives with you in Abuja. Your work on technological advancement and your ability to attract private-sector investment are commendable.”

The President reiterated his commitment to national unity and development, stating, “The election is over, and we have to move the nation forward. I don’t care which party you come from. You are my friend, and you are doing well. We must build this house called Nigeria not just for our immediate needs but for future generations.”

He praised Mbah’s focus on security and technological innovation, particularly the launch of the state’s Distress Response Squad and the AI-enabled Command and Control Centre. “There’s no better investment than securing lives. I am impressed by what I’ve seen—those patrol vehicles with AI surveillance cameras are the way forward.”

During the visit, Tinubu commissioned several key projects, including:

30 fully equipped Enugu Smart Green Schools out of the 260 under construction across all wards in the state.

60 state-of-the-art Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres, part of a broader initiative to construct 260 such facilities statewide.

90 modernized urban roads in Enugu City, designed to enhance mobility and urban aesthetics.

The Enugu International Conference Centre, featuring multi-auditorium and multi-functional spaces.

The AI-driven Command and Control Centre, equipped with 150 patrol vehicles and cutting-edge surveillance systems.

Mbah: “Our Dreams Are Grand but Realizable”
In his remarks, Governor Mbah expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for visiting Enugu as his first official engagement in 2025 and for supporting the state’s developmental goals. He outlined his administration’s bold vision to grow Enugu’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion within eight years.

“Our ambition is to make Enugu one of Nigeria’s top three states in GDP terms. We understand that challenges like criminality can stifle dreams and drain a city’s vibrancy, which is why we’ve prioritized security through substantial investments and strategic planning,” Mbah stated.

He highlighted the integration of AI-enhanced security systems, which provide round-the-clock surveillance across the state, adding, “A sense of security is not just about arms-bearing personnel but about creating an environment where people feel safe even in the absence of visible threats.”

Mbah’s Broader Achievements
Beyond the projects commissioned, Mbah has achieved significant milestones, including:

The establishment of Enugu’s first modular refinery, boosting industrialization and creating jobs.

The revival of moribund industries, including the coal mining sector, to diversify the state’s revenue base.

Investments in agriculture, resulting in increased output and partnerships with global agro-tech firms.

Introduction of a comprehensive e-governance platform to streamline public services and enhance accountability.

A massive rural electrification drive, bringing electricity to over 100 previously underserved communities.

Governor Peter Mbah’s visionary leadership has placed Enugu State on a path of sustainable growth and transformation. As President Tinubu aptly noted, “Enugu has a good tomorrow, today.” With Mbah’s unwavering commitment to security, innovation, and economic development, Enugu is set to become a model state in Nigeria.
