President Bola Tinubu has expressed relief at the release of the kidnapped Kuriga schoolchildren in Kaduna State, Nigeria, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between federal and state governments on security matters.
He also reiterated his administration’s stance of not negotiating with kidnappers.
The successful rescue operation was commended by various officials, including Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State and the Defence Headquarters.
The Defence Headquarters reported that a total of 137 hostages, comprising 76 females and 61 males, were rescued in Zamfara State.
The military affirmed its commitment to ongoing efforts to rescue other hostages and apprehend the perpetrators of such crimes.
