President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after participating in the 5th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union (AU) in Nairobi, Kenya.
Tinubu who left Abuja on Saturday for the meeting with other leaders in the continent returned today amidst the ongoing crisis in All Progressives Congress (APC).
Truthlive news had reported that the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Adamu had resigned on Sunday evening from the ruling party and was replaced by the Deputy National Chairman, North, Abubakar Kyari.
Shortly after Adamu’s resignation, it was reported that the National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore also resigned from the party.
Kyari confirmed the development saying “At this point, the individuals have resigned voluntarily and that is what is available at this moment. Reasons for resignations will be made to you in the near future.”
The president who was not in the country during the whole event arrived the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 4:20p.m and was received at the airport by top government functionaries which includes; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, Imo Governor, Hope Uzodinnma, and former Kano State governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
