CALABAR CARNIVAL: As Cross River State Government flagged off the annual Calabar Carnival, showcases the rich cultural diversity of the state, Governor Bassey Edet Otu, has emphasized the significance of Calabar Carnival Calendar.

The Calabar Carnival has become a major tourist attraction, drawing millions of visitors from around the world.

The theme for this year’s carnival, held in 2024, is “Our Shared Prosperity,” emphasizing the importance of unity and collective progress.

At the flag-off, Gov. Otu highlighted the Calabar Carnival spectacular features to include parade of colorful costumes, energetic dance performances, and pulsating music.

‘Today marks a significant day in the carnival calendar, and the spectacle commences now as we unveil our rich cultural heritage,” he said.

“With its rich cultural heritage, breathtaking natural beauty, and exciting attractions, Cross River State is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the best of Nigeria.”

Truth Live News gathered that last year he pledged to introduce enhancements to offerings, and expressed confident that he has delivered on his promise.

“I extend a warm welcome to all our collaborators and stakeholders, as we are poised to witness unprecedented displays.”

Cross River State has a lot to offer visitors, from the majestic scenery of the Obudu Plateau to the serene beauty of the Kwa Falls.

Moreover, the state is home to several cultural attractions, including the Calabar Museum and the National Museum.

Meanwhile, 18 local government areas of Cross River took part in the cultural carnival on Friday with their distinct costumes.

They showcased their cultural prowess while embodying this year’s theme, “Our Shared Prosperity.”
