The council chairman of Katcha Local Government Area of Niger State, Hon. Danlami Abdullahi Saku, has died in an auto crash.
The incident happened at about 7:00 pm at Kwakuti village along the deplorable and ever-busy Minna-Suleja highway on Tuesday.
Hon. Saku was said to have run into a trailer while travelling from Minna, the state capital, to Abuja.
The death of the council chairman was confirmed in a statement on Tuesday night by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Niger State governor, Bologi Ibrahim.
He said his principal, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, received the news of the demise of the late chairman with rude shock, describing the Saku’s death as heartbreaking.
He said the demise of Saku is a sharp reminder that all creatures are from Allah, and unto Him they will return at the appointed time.
The governor, therefore, condoles with the family of the deceased, the people of the Katcha local government area, and the entire state over the loss.
He appealed to the people to remain steadfast in the will of Allah at all times, as He is perfect in all things.
