Troops of Operation Fansan Yanma, under the 1 Brigade, have apprehended Shamsiyya Ahadu, a suspected logistics supplier for terrorist groups operating in Zamfara State.
According to Zagazola Makama, a counterinsurgency platform focused on the Lake Chad region, the suspect was arrested following intelligence reports about his movements.
Acting on the tip-off, the troops set up a snap checkpoint along the Kware-Badarawa road in Shinkafi LGA, leading to the suspect’s capture.
Ahadu, 25, was reportedly found with 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, six magazines, and a talisman, locally known as laya.
Alongside, Ahmed Husaini, a motorcycle rider, was also taken into custody during the operation.
Further reports indicate that on December 26, troops neutralized several terrorists, including Ma’oli, a notorious kingpin, in an operation in Maisheka village near Kunchin Kalgo town in Tsafe LGA.
Efforts by the military to curb terrorist activities in the state continue to yield results, as security forces intensify their operations in troubled areas.
