Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his resignation on January 6, 2025, marking the end of nearly a decade in office. Trudeau’s decision comes amid escalating internal party tensions and the recent resignation of his Finance Minister, Chrystia Freeland, who stepped down citing personal reasons and dissatisfaction with the government’s economic direction.
