On Friday, a car incident along Eruwa-Lanlate road in Oyo State’s Ibarapa East local government area killed twenty people and badly injured others.
The two survivors and the injured passengers are being treated at a nearby hospital.
An 18-seater passenger bus and a privately owned 7-seater Sienna bus were both involved in the accident.
According to eyewitnesses, it was a head-on collision involving two automobiles traveling in opposing directions, with at least twenty people killed on the spot and others injured.
Confirming the accident, the chairman of Ibarapa East Local Government, Hon Gbenga Obalowo, described it as pathetic, and unfortunate but avoidable.
He used the opportunity to sympathise with the families of those who died in the incident.
He said that the corpses of those burnt have been deposited at a morgue.
