Two Nigerian Women Arrested In Italy Over Deàth Of 20-day-Old Baby After Home Circumcision

Italian authorities have detained two Nigerian women in relation to the home circumcision-related death of a 20-day-old Nigerian boy.

It was learned that the event took place on Friday, March 24, 2023 in Montecompatri, close to Rome.

The two Nigerian women are accused of aggravated manslaughter and illegal practice of a trade, according to the Italian news agency ANSA.

In order to conduct an investigation, both ladies were taken to the Rome Rebibbia-Feminine.

The mother of the infant is also being looked into on suspicion of manslaughter conspiracy.

According to the police, the baby’s parents took him to Tor Vergata Polyclinic on Friday after he began bleeding, but he was already deceased when they got there.
