Micah Hamilton and Oscar Bobb, two young players, both scored outstanding goals as Manchester City defeated Crvena Zvezda 3-2 to earn a perfect record in Group G of the Champions League.
In his debut for the senior squad, Hamilton turned a defender in the penalty area after receiving a pass from Matheus Nunes and sent a tight angle shot over the goalkeeper’s head.
The second arrived shortly after the hour mark, as Bobb utilized Rico Lewis’s run as a decoy to steal the ball from the England international on the right wing. He then turned inside and slid a shot inside the far corner.
With 14 minutes left, South Korean international Hwang In-beom performed a one-two with Osman Bukari and scored to give Crvena Zvezda the lead.
After Nasser Djiga took down Hamilton in the area, Kalvin Phillips scored the penalty kick to seal the win and score his first goal for City.
In injury time, Katai headed home Hwang’s corner unopposed, giving the hosts another goal, but City held on to win.
