With Newcastle leading, PSG appeared to be losing the game. Their situation was dire until Niclas Fullkrug set up Karim Adeyemi for a goal six minutes after the interval.

After Kylian Mbappe’s pull-back found its way to Zaire Emery five minutes later, the visitors leveled the score as the 17-year-old slammed home a goal that was slightly deflected off Adeyemi.

The game was scoreless at the half, but both teams, especially the visitors’ Randal Kolo Muani and Lee Kang-in, had missed opportunities to put their side ahead. By halftime, the score might have easily been six goals. In addition, Niklas Sule made one of the best goal-line saves ever to stop Mbappe.

When Mbappe calmly tucked home after latching onto Achraf Hakimi’s through pass, PSG appeared to have taken the lead, but VAR determined he was slightly offside.

Due to this outcome and Newcastle’s 2-1 loss to AC Milan at home, Dortmund tops the group with 11 points, while PSG comes in second with eight, ahead of the Italian team on the basis of a superior head-to-head record.
