Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed optimism about a strong agreement with the United States following a meeting with US envoy Keith Kellogg.
Zelensky stated that the meeting “restores hope” for success and pledged Ukraine’s readiness to work quickly on a strong investment and security agreement.
In his address to the nation, Zelensky emphasized the importance of strong agreements that truly work.
He instructed his team to work quickly and sensibly, focusing on the economy and security.
The Ukrainian president also highlighted the need for a clear and reliable system of security guarantees to ensure the war never returns.
The meeting with Kellogg took place a day after Zelensky and US President Donald Trump exchanged criticisms as US-Russian talks began on ending the three-year-old war between Kyiv and Moscow.
Zelensky reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to peace, stating that his country has sought peace from the start of the war.
“Ukraine is ready for a strong effective investment and security agreement with the president of the United States.
“We have proposed the fastest and most constructive way to achieve results.
“Our team is ready to work 24/7”, he said on X.
Ukraine had previously rejected an initial US proposal to develop rare earths in the country.
Zelensky’s discussion with Kellogg focused on the battlefield situation, security guarantees, and the return of prisoners of war.
