United States National Security Adviser Michael Waltz has stated that Ukraine’s membership in NATO is not a current consideration.

In an interview with Fox News on Monday, Waltz emphasized, “That is not back on the table.

“I do not see the United States having Ukraine enter into NATO.”

Waltz clarified that while the US is committed to NATO and its treaty agreements, security guarantees for Ukraine are a separate issue.

This statement comes after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed willingness to resign for peace in Ukraine and potentially swap his position for NATO membership.

Zelenskyy stated at a press conference in Kyiv, “If you need me to leave this chair, I am ready to do that, and I also can exchange it for NATO membership for Ukraine.

The US has maintained that NATO membership for Ukraine is not a realistic outcome of a negotiated settlement, instead emphasizing the need for capable European security guarantees.
