Ikemesit Edet, the owner of Uyo Cybercrime Training Centre, also known as Hustle Kingdom, has been sentenced to ten years in prison for fraud.

The Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) brought charges against Edet on Wednesday, accusing him of impersonation, love scams, hacking/editing social media accounts, and teaching criminal activities.

According to the EFCC statement, Edet pleaded guilty and was sentenced to ten years in jail, with an option of paying a N2,000,000 fine for each count.

The charges against Edet include allowing his premises to be used as a cybercrime academy, recruiting and teaching young Nigerians cybercrime techniques, and possessing proceeds of unlawful activities totaling Fifteen Million Naira.

The prosecution counsel, Joshua Abolarin, urged the court to convict and sentence Edet accordingly, while also requesting the forfeiture of all exhibits recovered from him.

In response, the defense counsel, Francis Ezike, pleaded for leniency in sentencing.

Justice Ojukwu convicted Edet and sentenced him to five years in jail on each count, with the option of paying a N2,000,000 fine for each count. Additionally, Ojukwu ordered the forfeiture of all recovered exhibits, including laptops, vehicles, and land, to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
