The acting Vice-Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Prof. Okechuku Onuchuku has reportedly said he want to make dubious business ventures and members of staff who are stealing money from the students and the system redundant.
Again, Prof. Onuchuku, said he is determined to remove all human manipulations in revenue generation at the university.
The acting VC said this on Friday when he led the management of the institution to the corporate head office of MRsoft Technology in Rivers state.
A source close to the management said the VC had planned with MRsoft Technology, an IT consulting firm to the university on how to fashion out better and more efficient ways of making all forms of financial transactions easier and safe for the students,
The inform source said, he regretted that some dubious business owners operating in the institution, and some members of staff were stealing from the students and the system.
“I want to make dubious business ventures and members of staff who are stealing money from the students and the system redundant”, he said.
Truth Live News gathered that the Vice Chancellor who said he would deploy technology in other areas like security, e-lectures, checking examination malpractices, was also reported to have said that the units that generate more money are not going to be starved of funds.
According to the report, the MRsoft Technology is an indigenous first class information and telecommunication firm that was established in 1992, with Mr. Mbato Robinson, as the Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Robinson, said the visit which was a “great honour and privilege”, is planning to reposition the fortunes of IAUE, through the use of modern digital technology and hope it would enhance the relationship between the firm and the institution.
