The recent arrest and confession of two female students from Kwara State Polytechnic in the murder of Mr. Adeniyi Ojo, a club owner and son of Chief Emmanuel Ojo, has sent shockwaves through the community. The suspects, identified as Joseph Joy Adama and Vandora Davies Oreoluwa Favour, were apprehended on October 6, 2023, in the Mowe area of Ibafo, Ogun State, by the Nigeria Police.
According to the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the suspects tied the victim under the pretense of engaging in a sexual encounter and demanded money from him. When he did not comply, they resorted to suffocating him, ultimately leading to his death. The suspects confessed that their initial plan was to steal money from him under the guise of car sex and BDSM, but the situation took a tragic turn.
One of the suspects, Adanma Joseph, detailed how they lured the victim into a room, where they tied him up, and their intention was to take his cash. However, things went awry, and in the process, he lost his life. The suspects claim that they did not realize he was dead until they were apprehended by the police.
The management of Kwara State Polytechnic has disassociated itself from the suspects. The motive behind this heinous act remains uncertain, whether it was premeditated or an accident.
