A distressed resident in Uromi, Edo State, has expressed deep concern over the widespread flooding that is engulfing the area. He emphasized the severity of the situation, noting that it has become exceedingly difficult for vehicles to maneuver through the neighborhood. This hindrance in mobility not only inconveniences the residents but also poses significant safety risks.
A video obtained by Truth Live News captures the man drawing attention to the adverse effects of the flood on vehicular movement. He urgently appeals to the state government to intervene and provide assistance to alleviate the distressing conditions being faced by the residents.
While expressing his distress, he said: “This is Taxona, in Uromi, Edo State. The erosion here is so massive that it is even difficult for vehicles to navigate, causing every vehicle to park completely.
“The people that constructed this place didn’t make a provision for gutter. The drainage made was unprofessionally done, because as I speak to you right now, all vehicles are parked. They can’t move right now, else they will be swept away from the road. The erosion is very very massive; even the River Nile is not as heavy as this.”
Calling on the state government for intervention, he pleaded, “We are calling on the government to do something here, so that at the end of the day, there would be an end to this massive disaster, and relief to the affected community and restoring normalcy to residents’ lives.”
