A Facebook user, Kingsley Ibe, has publicly apologised to popular gospel singers Nathaniel Bassey and Mercy Chinwo over a defamation of character lawsuit filed against him.

Bassey filed a petition with the police against some people who alleged that Mercy and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, falsely claimed Nathaniel Bassey as the father of their son, Charis.

He said in part: “Hello to everyone my name is Kingsley Ibe, in this video am here to address something very important, and to start with this video is made voluntarily from the bottom of my heart, I was not pressured or forced by anyone, I made a reckless comment concerning Pastor Nathaniel Bassy which am very sorry.

“To Pastor Nathaniel Bassy I extend my sincere apology to you for the comment I made on social media and to your family as well, I know the damages it has caused and I take responsibility for everything, I am deeply sorry from the bottom of my heart.

“To minster Mercy Chinwo, I know I do not deserve your mercy, but am deeply sorry, I ask for you to forgive me, and am also sorry to your husband Pastor Blessed, and to your cute baby, am also sorry.”
