Popular Lagos socialite and real estate mogul, Abu Abel, has raised alarm over the alleged seizure of his property by Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu.
In a video seen by Truth Live News , Abel showcased the disputed land, expressing his frustration and accusing the influential political figure’s son of orchestrating the land grab.
Abel claims to have purchased the land over six years ago with proper approvals from government agencies. The socialite insisted that he invested billions of Naira in filling the land, only to discover that it was being fenced off by individuals allegedly acting on behalf of Seyi Tinubu.
In the video, Abel stated, “You can see, they’re erecting fences. They have been told to fence the land and give the key to Seyi Tinubu.” He emphasized the legitimacy of his ownership, citing government assessments and approvals obtained six years prior.
“The land I have consent over that the governor even gave me an assessment to pay, about 6 years ago. 6 years ago, you didn’t say the land belonged to Tinubu. When I started filling up the land, I’ve spent billions, and now you say the land belongs to Tinubu,” Abel lamented.
Abel accused authorities of instructing the Chief of Staff to fence the property and hand over the keys to Seyi Tinubu, prompting him to cry out for help and drawing attention to the potential implications of such actions. He warned, “Can you see, they want to snatch my land. Can you see, you told them to fence it around and give the key to Seyi Tinubu? Nigerians see, this is how people commit suicide.”
This revelation has come as a shock to many Nigerians, considering Abel’s close affiliations with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressive Congress (APC) establishments in Lagos. The incident raises questions about the potential abuse of power and the rule of law, as well as the implications for property rights in the country.
