The Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has lauded the decision of Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki to raise the minimum wage for workers in the state from N40,000 to N70,000.

Expressing his appreciation during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, which was diligently followed by Truth Live News, Oshiomhole voiced his satisfaction with the wage adjustment.

“I’m very happy with what the Edo State Governor has done,” stated Oshiomhole during the interview. “He is just being consistent with the tradition that we established when I was governor and he was my economic adviser.”

Oshiomhole’s remarks come in the wake of Governor Obaseki’s announcement of the wage hike, a move aimed at improving the standard of living for workers in the state. The decision showed the administration’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of its workforce, reflecting a continuation of policies initiated during Oshiomhole’s tenure.

The wage increase, from N40,000 to N70,000, represents a significant boost for workers grappling with the challenges posed by inflation and the rising cost of living.

Governor Obaseki’s proactive approach to addressing these economic concerns has garnered praise from various quarters, with Oshiomhole’s endorsement adding further credence to the initiative.
