In light of the recent unintended military air strike at Tudun Biri village in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has urged the Federal Government to allocate sufficient funding to the military and other security agencies to enhance their operational capabilities.

During his visit to the victims at the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in the state capital on Tuesday, Obi expressed concern over the 16 accidental military bombings that have occurred in the country, resulting in over 500 casualties. He criticized the Federal Government for not taking adequate measures to prevent the recurrence of such tragic incidents.

The former governor of Anambra State emphasized the importance of government support for the military to prevent incidents like accidental bombings from happening in the future. Obi highlighted that providing adequate funding for the military is crucial in addressing the contemporary and emerging security challenges facing the nation.

While endorsing calls for an investigation into the military air strike, Obi also proposed the establishment of a foundation to care for the victims of the Tudun Biri drone attack, especially those who have been orphaned by the incident.
