Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo has received massive applauds after offering his own seat to the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi at an event.
Obasanjo who personally stood up and walked to Obi to usher him to his own seat afterwards said “My job is done.”
The event was to celebrate a national award given to the President of the African Export-Import Bank Prof. Benedict Oramah.
In the viral video seen by Truthlive.net, the former president could be seen calling up Obi, who was sitting at the ninth table and led him to the first amid applauds by the mammoth crowd.
He said, “In the presence of Nigerians,” while he ushering the LP flag-bearer to be seated on the first seat.
Immediately after leading the former Anambra governor to table one, he declared, “My job is done”.
Meanwhile, even though Obasanjo has not formally endorsed any presidential candidate for the February 2023 election, speculations are that he has favoured Obi to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari come 2023.
Prior to the event, the Obi has had a series of closed-door meetings with former president Obasanjo with many insinuating that it was meant to seek support for his presidential ambition.
Recently, Obasanjo was also in a meeting between Obi, Governor Nyesom Wike and his group in London.
