Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has expressed confidence in the timely completion of several road projects in Abuja, with a promise to deliver them within the next eight months. During his recent inspection of ongoing projects in the FCT, including Roads B6, B12, Circle Road, and the Federal Secretariat, Wike was satisfied with the progress made.
He also assessed projects like the southern Parkway by Setraco, the outer Southern Expressway by CGC, and the Arterial Road N20 developed by Gilmor Engineering. The minister commended the quality of work and emphasized that President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda was not mere propaganda but a reality.
Wike, who took office just a month ago, recalled that no contractors were on-site due to non-payment when he assumed office as the FCT Minister. However, he noted that major companies like Julius Berger, Setraco, CGC, and Gilmor had returned to work, and he expressed optimism about the positive changes to come.
He emphasized that these contractors would be paid promptly to ensure their continued presence on the sites. Wike firmly believed in the success of Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda and urged journalists to witness and verify the progress themselves.
Wike’s visit to the project sites in Abuja demonstrated his commitment to timely project delivery and his confidence in the transformational agenda set forth by President Tinubu. With major companies actively working on these strategic roads, the minister anticipated that, by God’s grace, significant progress would be made in the next eight months, benefiting all stakeholders involved.
