Governor Mala Buni of Yobe state has again repeat that his administration’s commitment is to ensure transparency, accountability and prudence in all its transactions.
He pledged that prompt payment of public servants’ monthly salaries will continue to be one of his administration’s priorities.
This was sequel to the outcome of a survey conducted by ‘Budgit’ an independent Civil Organization, on payment of salaries in Nigeria.
The report of the survey which covers up to July 2022, was observed to have captured the state as one of the states that is not owing its civil servants.
Unlike Taraba Adamawa, Imo, Ondo, Abia and Ebonyi states which was noticed were enumerated by the survey as states that are not regular in the payment of civil servant’s monthly wages, the reverse was however the case with Yobe State.
Based on the outcome of the survey, the governor in a statement yesterday issued out to media practitioners, said his administration has been
“Committed and consistent and will maintain the tempo.”
Despite the state’s position in terms of resources, the governor vowed not to toy with the payment of workers’ salaries stating that”payment of salaries will remain our priority.”
“This administration” as affirmed by him “will continue to observe prudence, accountability and transparency in all its transactions.”
The governor also promised that he will continue to extend the much needed olive branch to public workers, said “We are committed to ensure that we never fail in payment of salary to our workers”.
He then, enjoined civil servants in the state and local government on payrolls to reciprocate the government’s gesture through hard work, dedication and productivity.
Stating that:
“We all have great roles to play to uplift the lives of our people and create a state of our dream”.
