The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has passionately encouraged the Super Falcons to triumphantly bring home the prestigious 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup title.
Her resolute message was conveyed during a delightful dinner held on Saturday in honor of the team, just before their imminent departure for the highly-anticipated tournament commencing on July 20 and concluding on August 20.
Dr. Betta Edu, the National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had the privilege of representing the First Lady during this occasion. Dr. Edu conveyed the First Lady’s unwavering belief in the team’s exceptional capabilities and distinguished track record, while emphatically urging the players to exhibit utmost dedication and exhibit seamless teamwork throughout the tournament.
Expressing her unwavering confidence in the team’s ability to excel at the global stage, the First Lady wholeheartedly pledged to personally receive the team with open arms upon their triumphant return with the coveted World Cup.
“It is important that you remain committed by playing together as a team; no one should think that she’s better player than the other.
“It is only when you play as a team that you can record success. It is my expectation that this time, you will surpass your previous efforts.
“I am sure that 99.9 per cent of Nigerians will stay glued to their television sets to watch you. Please try your best to bring the cup home.”
