Popular blogger Stella Dimoko Korkus has stirred up curiosity about the whereabouts of Blessing Okpapi Okpebholo, the wife of Senator Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Edo State. Since the commencement of the campaign rally, Mrs. Okpebholo has been conspicuously absent, raising eyebrows across Edo State.
In a lengthy post on her verified Instagram account, Stella Dimoko Korkus boldly asked, “Where is APC Guber Candidate Okpebholo’s Wife Blessing Okpapi Okpebholo? She seems to be missing from the campaign runs, but his two daughters accompany him everywhere.” Her observation has fueled speculation, as tongues begin to wag about the possible reasons behind this absence.
Rumors have started to circulate, with some questioning whether Mrs. Okpebholo’s absence is strategic or personal. Dimoko Korkus’ post added fuel to the fire, with suggestions that Senator Okpebholo might be keeping his wife away from the spotlight in favor of a rumored “side chic.”
Political analysts are divided on whether this absence is a deliberate campaign strategy, but many warn that it could backfire, leading to negative public perceptions. Despite her recent appearance at the campaign flag-off for the three senatorial districts alongside notable figures such as Senator Adams Oshiomhole and Senator Matthew Urhoghide, the mystery of Mrs. Okpebholo’s role remains unsolved.
As it stands, PDP’s Dr. Asue Ighodalo is the only candidate among the three top contending candidates for Edo governorship who is legally married and his wife Mrs. Ifeyinwa Ighodalo, has been visibly present in every campaign events across Edo State. Asue has ticked all the boxes required of a Governor, including marital status.
