Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has revealed why Enzo Fernandes is no longer a starter for the Blues.
In a recent press conference, Maresca explained that the absence of Fernandes from the starting XI is due to the impressive midfield partnership between Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo.
Maresca established that Lavia and Caicedo bring a better balance to the team, particularly in terms of physicality and strength in the midfield.
This partnership, according to him, has led to Fernandes being benched for the past two Premier League games
Maresca, however, assured that the midfielder will play a significant part in future games, most especially as Chelsea has a packed schedule.
It’s worth noting that Fernandes was recently involved in a racism controversy while playing for Argentina in the Copa America.
