Comrade Ejeye Jolomi

This Article is sequel to the aftermath of the recently concluded historical 2023 Presidential Elections.

Before the elections were concluded there were plots by anti-democratic elements to, “truncate our democracy”, due to their selfish interests and personal agendas against the Collective Interest of the citizens of Nigeria.

The Major factor that characterized Nigeria’s Political Climate was the catastrophic Monetary Policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) which had dire negative consequences on the Nigerian Economy and it’s Citizens.

The Policy suffocated Nigerians and denied them access to their legal tender (money) saved in banks.

The Monetary Policy of the CBN came with the deception that it was a cashless Policy that would stop vote buying during the Elections and I ask this Rhetorical questions, What is the CBN’s business with Election and Political Activities? How did Notorious Bandit Leader, kachalla baleri get the new 10 million naira notes in cash? At the heat of the Naira Confiscation and Naira scarcity, even multi-millionaires with legitimate businesses were unable to get the new notes.

Does the Notorious Bandit Leader, Kachalla Baleri have links in the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN)?

Now, because of the Monetary Policy of the CBN, people’s money were confiscated and the cashless Policy was a big sham because even network used by various banks, such as Access Bank in financial operations like interbank transfers or recharging of Mobile lines, completely stopped functioning.

So, even the cashless Policy was unbearable, unattainable and incompetent, because it wasn’t working, so people’s money were seized and it wasn’t cashless, it was money confiscation.

Sequel to all these events, Nigeria had the opportunity to produce His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its President thereby sustaining the People’s Political mandate.

Nigeria also produced a very competent Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, a very competent Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I Jibrin, very competent Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honorable Tajudeen Abbas, and a very competent Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honorable Benjamin Kalu.

The new Leadership of the National Assembly is characterized by men whose footprints are evident in the public domain, their endless service to humanity, their proven track records and capacity in Governance over the years speaks for itself.

Before the Elections, in my Article, “Why Our Democracy must be Preserved part I”, I sensitized the Political Class and the entire Electoral Populace of Nigeria on the need to avert the plot to truncate our Democracy by Enemies of Nigeria who believed the whole country should burn or scatter simply because they and their candidates lost out in the Presidential Elections.

Just like a Prophecy and being accurate in my Political Analysis, some of these so-called anti-democratic forces gradually started exposing themselves, the first was former President Olusegun Obasanjo whom once he can’t control a sitting President, he starts to fight them through his notorious open letters.

In Obasanjo’s act of Democratic Sabotage against Nigeria, he urged former President Mohammadu Buhari to interfere in the Electoral Process and Cancel the Elections that Produced Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Nigeria’s President which is unconstitutional, but former President Buhari who believes in Democracy didn’t Interfere in the Electoral Process at all because in Nigeria, we operate the best system of Government called Democracy, not a one man show like Totalitarianism or a Unitary System of Government where Power is Centralized.

Another Individual who heated up the Polity through the outrageous, disastrous and inciting statements he made on Channels Television was Senator Datti Baba Ahmed, he blatantly arrogated to himself the Power to Interpret the Constitution, He used Section 134 to insult Nigerians by telling them that only the votes of those in Abuja should count, when we run a Democracy and not an Aristocratic System of Government. I feel he spoke with a bourgeoisie mentality, maybe because he feels Abuja is the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria with very rich and powerful people residing there, he felt 25% of the votes from Abuja should determine the vote of the Electoral Populace of Nigeria thereby disrespecting and disenfranchising citizens of other states.

It should be noted that the Labour Party Vice Presidential Candidate suffered terrible defeat even in his state of Origin, Kaduna State, he didn’t add electoral value nor did he have the capacity to get up to 20% votes during the last Presidential Elections in Kaduna State.

This Article was to be released on the 12th of June, 2023 but was postponed till after the Inauguration of the 10th National Assembly which took place on the 13th of June, 2023 at the both Chambers of the National Assembly.

I wholeheartedly congratulate the new Leadership of the National Assembly and urge them to please ensure that Youths between the ages of 18 – 35 years should be given significant Political Appointments in this new Administration.

Thanks to everyone both Political Leaders and it’s Citizens who resisted plots by anti-democratic elements to truncate our Democracy and I am one of them.

Already, Nigerian Citizens seem to be very comfortable with the Tinubu Administration with the Policies and decisions it has made since assumption of Office barely 2 weeks ago, some of which are making loans available to students, the Electricity bill he signed into Law and the arrest of Former Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) Governor for investigation involving financial crimes.

On Asiwaju’s mandate and leadership we shall stand and Support. I nominate this article for best Article, 2023.
