Abuja, Nigeria

In compliance with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to account for their activities, Minister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike inspected crucial projects in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Thursday.

Wike’s tour covered major initiatives, including the expansion of the Outer Northern Expressway, Arterial Road N20 development, and the Vice President’s official residence.

Emphasizing the significance of the inspection, he stated, “These impactful projects contribute to the overall development of the FCT.”

In a statement made available to Truth Live News, the FCT minister commended contractors for their dedication and assured the completion of projects by May. He affirmed, “No promise made will be unfulfilled,” highlighting the quality of work witnessed during the tour.

Addressing funding concerns, Wike disclosed the receipt of 50% of the FCT’s N100 billion 2023 supplementary budget, demonstrating President Tinubu’s commitment to timely payments. This development instilled confidence in the Minister that contractors would receive their due payments soon, preventing any project delays.

As the FCT moves forward, Wike extended appreciation to the residents of Abuja for their support and emphasized that the government aims to fulfill all promises made. Reflecting on the quality projects observed during the tour, he anticipated their completion within the President’s first year in office.

The minister who was dubbed “Mr Project” by his peers when he was governor of Rivers state, is on track to even improve on his sterling performance as FCT minister.

The press statement was issued by Anthony Ogunleye, Director of Press, Office of the Honourable Minister.
