A 27-year-old woman, Andrea Reyes, has been found alive in the US, 25 years after she was abducted by her non-custodial mother, Rosa Tenorio, in Connecticut.
Truth Live News gathered that Reyes was just 2 years old when she was taken in October 1999.
According to Fox News, Mexican authorities identified Reyes and her mother in 2000, but no further action was taken.
The case was reopened in 2023 when Reyes contacted the man she believed to be her father.
The New Haven Police Department partnered with Othram, a forensic genetic genealogy research company, to confirm Reyes’ identity through DNA analysis.
The results confirmed a father-daughter relationship between Reyes and her father.
Reyes’ stepmother expressed gratitude and acknowledged the challenges ahead, saying, “Thank you for sharing in our joy in finding our daughter Andrea… We recognize that this reacquaintance will have challenges, however, we are confident that God is building the path before us and leading our steps.”
