A yet to be identified young woman has been killed by unknown persons in Makurdi, the state capital and dumped in a refuse dump site in Makurdi.
It was said that the police was informed after residents found her body at a refuse site in Nyiman area of the state.
It was said that her killers wrapped her body in a white bed sheet, concealed it in a bag and dumped her by a refuse dumped around Iorapuu Adai street Nyiman Hudco quarters on Sunday.
Speaking in Makurdi, a reliable police source said that reports were received that a young woman was killed and her body was dumped at a refuse site.
“Yes we got information that a young lady was killed and her body was seen. We don’t know what happened and we didn’t see any trace of violence on her body; no marks, no wound or blood.
“They just tied her body in a white bed sheet, put her in a sack and dumped her at a dump site at Nyiman layout of Makurdi
“The police is still investigating to unravel what actually happened. There is suspicions that she may have died in a hotel because the bed sheet looks like the ones they use in a hotel,” the source added.
He said the body was removed and deposited at the mortuary at the Federal Medical Center
The police image maker, Benue state command, SP Catherine Anene confirmed the incident.
She said that there is no detail regarding her death yet” for now there is no information yet but we believe we will get detail, dig into it and find out what actually happened to her”.
