A fast rising musical artiste, Esther Osaro Ehinmwingbovo also known as Xstar Song is currently rocking the airwaves with her music single titled “Adegheosa” which is translated to mean if not God.
Esther who grew up in a family of musicians, told journalists in Benin that music has been a passion for her right from childhood.
“I have been singing all my life, growing up from the music family, my dad is a musician and my grand mother has her own cultural troupe and my aunty is also a musician.
“So, I grew up practically inside music although I started professionally four years ago.
“I have been into live music. I play in surprise pub and cafe and different other lounges”, she said.
Esther who is popularly known as Xstar Song, said her commitment to her calling has paid off as it has made her to be nominated to represent the state in the United Kingdom.
“I recently shot my first music video and it is going to be dropping alongside my audio.
“I will be having the unveiling of Xstar Song, that is me, my concert is coming up in October.
“And based on my dedication to what I do, I recently got recognized by J.J Barry conglomerate to be one of the fast rising artistes in Benin that they are taking to the United Kingdom, London and Manchester to be precised for the Edo Festival Award which is coming up on November 16 and 23.
“I am happy that I have been able to reach this stage in life. I never thought it would be possible, coming so easily because I know of a few persons that have been trying to do it by themselves but it didn’t work out.
“So far so good, God has been so kind to me. So, going to the UK for an award festival night as one of the fast rising artistes in Benin, I think it is going to upgrade my current status in the music industry because most times, people want to be associated with those who have made it and trending.
“So, I think going to the UK to perform and coming back, I think it will actually open doors for other young artistes in the state because it will serve as an inspiration to them, especially our Edo community in the diaspora”, She said.
Xstar who is a musical artistes, caterer and make up artist, said though she is scared of a record labels because of some reasons, added that for now, she is comfortable with Realknock Entertainment.
According to the music thespian “I have always been scared of record labels because I have seen and heard stories of artistes being forced to do certain things because they want to meet up with record labels and at the end of the day, most artistes are reaped off of their hard work from the labels because of arguments or issues and at the end, they are left stranded.
“So, I have always been scared of it but I recently signed a management deal with Real Knock Entertainment which belongs to Chief Matthew Oshodin the Eni of Ujiogba who also doubles as the executive producer of Adegheosa’s project
“So, he has always been my guide through this new phase of my life and everything concerning music”,
The fast rising musical artiste, while x-raying some of the challenges faced by female artistes in the industry especially the up and coming ones, said they suffer more harassment than their male counterparts.
The “Adegheosa” crooner therefore advised them to be patient and know what they want, not to give in to any pressure of any kinds adding that their own time will certainly come if they didn’t give up.
Commending on the personality of the first rising artiste, the Chief Executive Officer of Surprise Pub and Cafe and Real Knock Entertainment, Chief Matthew Oshodin, said that Nigerians have a lot to gain from the songstress who is currently rocking the airwaves with her latest hit song, titled “Adegheosa”
He said young artistes like Xstar Song deserve a push for them to be able to reach the zenith of their musical career and that, that is why Real Knock Entertainment also signed a management deal with another fast rising artiste, call Iray Obas.
Chief Oshodin added that Real Knock Entertainment will continue to support Xstar Song and give her the necessary advice that will make her the most sort after in the state and beyond the shore of the country.
