Hoodlums Ambush Osun Police, Seize Rifle, Patrol Vehicle

A police response to an alleged abduction on the Ibadan-Ife Expressway turned deadly on Monday when suspected hoodlums ambushed officers, killing two civilians, injuring two policemen and escaping with an AK-47 rifle and patrol vehicle.
The attackers struck at about 11am after officers from the Ikire Divisional Police Headquarters, led by the Divisional Police Officer, responded to a distress call over the alleged abduction of a man identified as Sunkanmi.
