Nigerian music legend Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia has proposed to his new partner, Hon. Natasha Osawaru, just weeks after announcing the end of his 12-year marriage to Annie Macauley Idibia.
A viral video on social media shows the award-winning musician presenting an engagement ring to an excited Osawaru, who accepted the proposal amid cheers from close friends.
The news has sparked widespread reactions, given the timing of the proposal following his high-profile split from Annie.
2Baba’s relationship with Osawaru became public earlier this week when he made a surprise appearance at the Edo State House of Assembly, where she serves as a lawmaker. Osawaru, who represents the Egor Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is the deputy majority leader of the house.
Amid growing controversy and allegations that Osawaru played a role in his marriage breakdown, 2Baba took to Instagram on Tuesday to set the record straight. In a video post titled “To Whom It May Kwansighn,” the singer dismissed rumors and defended Osawaru against accusations of being a homewrecker.
“I have been seeing so many things, so many people coming up with their own false narratives and malicious nonsense,” he stated.
“Hon. Natasha has been dragged, she has been called all sorts of names, she has been labelled as a home breaker. She is a young, brilliant, amazing woman, and she had nothing to do with what is happening between me and Annie in our marriage,” 2Baba added.

The legendary singer openly professed his love for the politician, making it clear that he intends to marry her.
“Yes, I love her, she is amazing, she is cool, I want to marry her,” he said.
On Wednesday morning, 2Baba further fueled speculation by posting a picture of Osawaru on Instagram with the caption: “Now this is my world. Make una help me beg am to marry me.”
Recall that 2Baba had officially confirmed his separation from Annie Idibia on January 26, 2025.
The couple, who had been together for over two decades, first met when Annie was 15 years old. They got married in Dubai in 2013 and have two children together.
