A Canada-based Nigerian care giver, identified as Oghenemaro Ejerua, 38, has been arrested and charged with seven counts of assault, barely 14 days after he was declared wanted.
Earlier in a statement from December 31, 2025, the police said Ejerua was wanted in connection with the assault allegations and sought the public’s help to locate him.
He was described as 5’8, with a medium build, black curly hair, and black facial hair.
But in a statement issued on Monday, January 12, the Toronto Police Service said the 38 years old Ejerua was arrested over allegations that he assaulted vulnerable adults at a care home where he was employed as a care giver.
According to the statement, “The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in an assault investigation.
“On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at approximately 9:00 a.m., police responded to a call for an assault in the Sibley Avenue and Dentonia Park Avenue area.
“It is alleged that: the suspect was employed as a caregiver at a group home for vulnerable adults
“Between November 1 and November 30, 2025, the accused committed a series of assaults on the residents of the home.”
The police further said, “Oghenemaro Dave Ejerua, 38, of Toronto has been arrested and charged with: seven counts of assault.
“He was scheduled to appear in court at Ontario Court Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., in room 106.”
