Popular Ibadan-based On Air Personality, Human rights advocate and owner of Agidigbo FM radio station in Ibadan, Alhaji Hamza Oriyomi, on Saturday, declared his interest to contest the 2027 Oyo State governorship election under the platform of the Accord Party.
He declared his interest during a rally held at the Liberty Stadium in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, which attended by a mammoth crowd.
Speaking, Oriyomi said: “I am publicly declaring today that in 2027, I will not campaign for anyone or mobilise crowds for anyone.
“I, Oriyomi Hamzat, will be contesting in the gubernatorial election under the Accord Party.
“They blocked our buses, but they can’t clock our legs,” he said.
He disclosed that a powerful “order from above” had allegedly instructed transport operators not to convey his supporters to the venue of the declaration of intent.
Hamzat is a presenter of many programmes on his Agidigbo FM in Ibadan, however, the ‘Kokoro Alate’ human rights programme has endeared him to many ordinary Nigerians within Oyo State and beyond.
