….As Obidient Movement Pitches Tent With ADC

The national leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief John Odigie Oyegun, has decried the inability of successive governments to have judiciously use the abundance resources in the country to improve the standard of living of the Nigerian populace.
He disclosed this in Benin while receiving members of the Obidient Movement into the ADC fold in the state.
Chief Oyegun who was so impressed with the turnout of the youths and their resilience, admitted that they in their own way, tried to set the country on the right path but failed adding that, the youths have come to the rescue.
“A new Nigeria is possible. I have learned that today. And a new Nigeria is truly possible.
A few days ago, I was in this very hall.
“And joining us was a colourful and important personality. I was convinced I have seen or had seen the very best.
“Today, I climbed from outside. For the first time, I saw genuine youth seated outside. I came inside here and the room was still full.
“First, let me apologise to you for your patience in waiting for this event to take place. Secondly, it is my first experience of obedience in this number. My very first experience.
“And you know the good lesson? I can now retire convinced that the youths of this country are ready.
“That the youths of this country are able. And the youths of this country will create the condition that will make that new Nigeria possible. We tried. We tried. But we betrayed you.
But now, you have decided to take on the struggle yourself.
“You have now decided, through the ADC, to join the struggle to rescue Nigeria. And create that new nation of your dreams.
“I thank you very much. Are you ready for that struggle? Are you ready? Obedience, oh yeah! I am happy. I want to say that from the day the coalition came together, I was convinced that something new is finally beginning to happen in our country.
“Today, today, I am now saying it without a doubt, that you, taking off with you, will finally land in Aso Rock, the great village”, Oyegun said.
Chief Oyegun further appealed to them to make the dream of having a new Nigeria become a reality.
“It is the only hope we have. It is a rich hope. It is a rich country.
It is a productive country. But we have never had a productive government.
“Your task, your challenge today on the platform of the ADC is to make sure that through the ADC, you make a new Nigeria possible”, Oyegun added.
On the part of the national Chief Whip of the party, Elder Festus Igbinoba, he tasked members to look for how to reconcile all aggrieved members of the party with the so purpose of rescuing power from the incumbent government.
He also charged them to embark on membership drive for the party.
Also speaking, the state chairman of ADC, Kennedy Odion said the Obidient Movement is a force to reckon with and that anyone who doubts same, is living in self-denial.
He urged everyone to work for the success of the party and ensure it wins in the forthcoming general elections.
For the Edo South coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Mr. Asemota Idiogbe, he expressed the group readiness to embark on aggressive mobilization of members for the party.
