Bature Raises Alarm Over Stranded Nigerians in Iran, Appeals to Tinubu for Urgent Intervention

The Vice President of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO) China–North, Ibrahim Bature, has issued a passionate appeal to Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, urging immediate intervention to rescue Nigerians reportedly stranded in Iran amid escalating military tensions.

In a video obtained by Truth Live News on Saturday, Dr. Bature warned that Nigerians many of whom are students and workers are now trapped in dangerous conditions following reported attacks on Iranian cities by joint forces of Israel and the United States of America.

Speaking in the video, Dr. Bature expressed deep concern over the worsening situation, revealing that he had received numerous distress messages from Nigerians living in Iran.

“Many of them are on scholarship, others are working. But due to the looming war and ongoing attacks, they are now stranded. Some cannot afford flight tickets, and even booking flights is becoming nearly impossible,” he said.

He added that the crisis has disrupted basic living conditions, with reports indicating that food access is becoming increasingly difficult and communication networks could soon be shut down.

Dr. Bature noted that one of the stranded Nigerians informed him that hostilities had already begun, heightening fears that the situation could deteriorate rapidly.

“Anytime from now, communication lines may be cut off. These citizens are vulnerable and uncertain about their safety,” he stressed.

Dr. Bature urged President Tinubu and the Minister of Foreign Affairs to act swiftly by coordinating with Nigerian diplomatic missions and Iranian authorities to facilitate an emergency evacuation.

“Let the government liaise with our embassy and the Iranian embassy in Nigeria to evacuate our citizens. There are many of them, and they urgently need help,” he appealed.

He also offered to provide direct contacts of Nigerian community leaders in Iran to assist with coordination efforts.
